OakTree Aviation Services provides aircraft appraisals in Southern California for individual owners and institutional clients. Reports are USPAP-compliant and PAAO-certified, supported by on-site inspections, logbook review, and clearly documented, defensible documentation.
We work throughout the region—from the Inland Empire and Orange County to Los Angeles and San Diego—coordinating inspections at public and private airports to match the assignment’s scope and intended use.
With more than 30 years of aviation experience, we complete appraisals for financing, ownership planning, legal matters, donations and estate planning, and other tax-related reporting. Each engagement follows recognized professional standards and is documented for appropriate reliance by the intended user.
Advise the aircraft make/model, AF TTSN, location, and intended use (financing, estate, legal, etc.), and we’ll respond with next steps and a Quick-Quote.
Please reach us at appraisals@oaktreeaviation.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Completing an appraisal report typically depends on the complexity of the report, the type of subject aircraft, the total time on the airframe, and other potential items that may require more time to research. Typically, between 1-2 work days for certified appraisals, and 2-3 work days for USPAP-compliant appraisals
The answer is yes. The Professional Aircraft Appraisers Organization dictates that all aircraft appraisals must be accompanied by an on-site inspection. This is a good thing because it adds credibility and professionalism to our reports.
1. Please make available all airframe logbooks since the aircraft first went into
service in its factory-new state. Please advise ASAP if all logbooks are or will
not be available for inspection, or ifShop logbooks are kept at a different location.
2. Engine logbooks: If the engine/s are a product of a field or an Engine Shop
overhaul, we will need to have all engine logbooks since the engine/s were factory
new or remanufactured. If the engine/s are factory new or factory reman’d we will
only require the current logbook/s since the engine was purchased either new or
Factory Reman’d.
3. All FAA Form-337 forms reflecting STC installations, major repairs, avionics
installations, or airframe/engine/s modifications, etc..
4. Documentation reflecting the last aircraft exterior paint jobs, and aircraft interior
work completed. Note: Most of the time these two items will be reflected in the
airframe logbooks but not necessary.
5. Access to Aircraft’s FAA Airworthiness and Registration Certificates
6. If the airframe and/or engine/s are heavily modified we will need to know the
original costs of all modifications including installation for each item, since this info
directly effects the current value of the aircraft and/or engine values.
7. If your aircraft and/or engine/s/APU/s are on a progressive maintenance program, please make available, a current maintenance status report from your
maintenance provider, of which shows the last accomplished and forthcoming
inspection events for the airframe, engines and accessories, and any time/life limited items or parts.
,
8. If your aircraft is currently on any type of OEM maintenance service by the hour
(SBH) program for the airframe, components, parts, avionics and engines, we will require a copy of your service contract and OEM contact info to verify the plan/s are current and up-to-date, for valuation purposes.
“Certified” refers to the appraiser’s credentials. USPAP refers to the appraisal standard used to develop and report the value. A USPAP appraisal is designed to be defensible and audit-ready for high-reliance uses like lending, legal matters, and estates.
